Greetings and welcome to Queen Bee School District 16’s web site. I hope that this web site will provide you with useful information regarding the district’s policies, finances, building level activities, curriculum and instruction, and other topics of interest.

District 16 is located in the suburb of Glendale Heights, approximately 24 miles west of the city of Chicago.  Glendale Heights is a richly diverse community of approximately 32,000 residents.  Queen Bee District 16 is one of two community elementary school districts that feed into the Glenbard High School District 87 system. Queen Bee serves approximately 2100 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. There are four schools; Glen Hill and Pheasant Ridge, which are both primary buildings serving students in grades PreK-3; Americana Intermediate serving grades 4 and 5; and Glenside Middle School which serves students in grades 6 through 8.

There are approximately 200 employees in the district.  All employees are dedicated to implementing our core values and honoring our mission. Our mission is to set high standards to ensure that all students learn, grow and achieve.  We are committed to providing high quality programs and services, and differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students.  We have spent the past two years crafting an extensive District Strategic Plan that provides a framework for continuous improvement.  For details regarding our District Strategic Plan, core values and goals, please refer to the Strategic Plan link on our home page.

One of the goals we will focus on over the next few years is strengthening our partnerships with our school families and community members. We want to make sure that you and your child have the best possible elementary educational experience. Additionally we believe that the people of the Queen Bee community deserve a strong school district that is fiscally responsible and accountable to the community at large. We encourage and welcome parental involvement in all of our schools and are open to feedback from any of our community members.

I encourage you to explore our website for further details on the many exceptional programs and services we offer. If you have questions regarding the schools or district please contact a building principal or me.
